With more than 20 years working as a Conservation Framer, including owning a framing business, Jochen has a far-reaching knowledge of the conservation industry in Australia and an intimate knowledge of conservation considerations for a range of materials and situations.

Jochen’s expertise lies in all aspects of conservation picture framing, including conservation mounting of paper-based artworks, paintings and objects, the manufacture of strainers and assembly of stretchers and the stretching of works on canvas. He has worked for many of the major Sydney institutions including the Australian National Maritime Museum, Historical Housing Trust, NSW State Library, The Art Gallery of NSW and the Powerhouse Museum.

With ICS Brisbane he regularly works on and supervises site work for a wide range of  projects including public art, built heritage, paintings and paper conservation.
